DC Fashion// Carbon: Boutique Presents Sustainable Fashion Lines on 04/09/11 + Emma Watson in Glamour

DC FASHION ALERT

I love how the DC Fashion scene is EVOLVING. Katherine Limon, Owner of CARBON Boutique got in touch with me to extend an invitation to all my readers in the DC area to their Spring Soiree. The event marks the introduction of sustainable clothing, accessories, and handbags to their merchandise. Join me there as I cover this event! Katherine Limon is the new owner and is certainly sure to dazzle as she is known for her sense of style. I look forward to meeting her and taking pictures of the ambiance. I am a BIG fan of sustainable and ethical fashion. This is definitely an issue in fashion. Being fashionable should not come at the costs of unfair human labor or destroying our natural resources. I applaud Katherine Limon for ushering a new era of boutiques in DC that strive to provide clothing options from socially responsible companies. See the press release at the bottom of this post for more information on attending!

Our Environmental Fashion Hero// Emma Watson

More celebrities are highlighting the importance of sustainable fashion. Emma Watson is a prominent advocate for the environmnt. See her campaign here in my post on her collaboration with People Tree, a sustainable clothing line. She also has collaborated with Alberta Ferretti to co-design a eco friendly collection, “Pure Threads.”

Alberta Feretti talks working with Emma Watson:

“I’m grateful Emma accepted this creative partnership that can contribute to fashion and to the health of the planet. She’s an actress I’ve followed since her early days. I like her freshness, her spontaneity and simplicity. She is intelligent, with a strong personality, a young, modern girl of today but aware of social issues at the same time and very rigorous. This is a moment that demands strong attention to these issues and we can help in communicating them.”

Emma Watson is also one of Glamour’s three cover girls for May! The magazine also features Ashley Green and Frieda Pinto. Take a peek! Cheers for celebrities that promote sustainable lifestyles! The Fashion Brewery HEARTS Emma Watson!
