MIH Jeans

MiH Jeans‘ has collaborated with  Shopbop.com to create a simple yet stylish 70s inspired line of resort wear denim. Creative director Chloe Lonsdale infuses Anita Pallenberg-esque boho vibes with the more glamourous side of 70s style. I absolutely adore the high waist on many of the jeans and use of extremely light denim for a true retro feel…

Mavi

In 2011, we touted the fashionability of denim shirts and if you have not yet grabbed one, now is the time! Turkish denim line Mavi is almost too hot to handle. From mustard colored  jeans for men to softly faded denim shirts for women, there is a surprisingly large selection of styles to chose from. Denim shirts can also be paired with leather or lace bottoms.

Fashion Film: Steps for 2

British fashion designer darling Victoria Beckham recently collaborated with the artistic set to create a film showcasing her S/S 2012 denim line.  The film is directed by Quentin Jones and is lovely kickback to the French New Wave school of film. It is a bit whimsical and features wild imagery and geometric shapes against a black background. The score emphasizes the interaction of the models with the artistic elements of the film like graphics and scene transitions. The film does a good job in keeping with the youthful and radical experimentation associated with La Nouvelle Vague. I have been yearning to make a fashion film in a related film movement, Italian Neorealsim, but with law school who knows when that will happen. Anyhow, sit back, enjoy the film, and see if you are inspired…
